A huge thank you to everyone who came down to the Riff Taff Music Networking Night on Brighton last night. Over 100 people from all walks of the music industry joined us in Brighton last night and spent the evening making contacts. If you weren't there, don't miss the next one!
Those who joined our mailing list last night have now been sent the first edition of Riff Taff News that went out last week. If you haven't joined yet just go to the sign up form at the bottom of this page.
The Musicians Wall was a big success with loads of drummers, guitarists, bassists, keyboard players, horns, strings and solos it's all looking for bands - and lots of bands looking for them. We'll post pictures of these in the event and the group later today so that you can see who's who and connect if you didn't already get a chance to write down numbers.
Finally, the hard work starts now. You've hopefully now met lots of people, found who/what you are looking for, come away with some ideas and are thinking about what to do next. My advice is to go back over all of the business cards, demos, email addresses etc you were given last night and follow up with them all individually. Particularly for the ones you made a good connection with it's always a good idea to like their Facebook pages, go to their gigs, share their videos, and generally support whatever it is they do. Supporting others will help you as much as it helps them.
A recent study found that leaders in business who build their network across the enterprise rather than just their own line increase revenue for their own business unit by 12% and that of others by 5%. Translate that to what we do and it ultimately says that the more you network the more successful you will be, and the more successful those you network with will be as well. So keep it up!See you at the next networking night!
